Preparation for painting

Working on prepping my D250 fender for painting. I have sanded most of the paint off and am wondering if sanding the fiberglass with 220 is sufficient before priming the fender.

Yes 220 if fine for preparing for primer, but to coarse for sanding before painting, use at least 320 or finer before painting.

That's what I use before primer. Same with Kelly-(Vendor) on the 320 before paint.
