I got another tractor. (854)

Thanks to my son Nick ("wh_702") this was delivered Sunday night:

It didn't take much to get it running & driving Monday afternoon, so we figured it was worth trying to clean it up:

Nick returned today and we "tinkered" & cleaned a bit more. Naturally we had to test-fit my homemade grader blade :

This is what I have been waiting to try for years...... an RM-425 on a round hood:

Definitly needs a metal pan type seat.

Looks good did you actually get that deck working or is it still in the fitting phase?

They were intended for the 1045/1055/1075, but that deck could also be installed on the 855/875. It just didn't happen very often.

The frame & wheelbase is the same on the 854, so I knew it would work. I just needed to make it happen.

I need to get the correct mid-hitch (unique to the RM-425) and get new jackshaft bearings and it should be ready to hack some grass.

A little polishing compound & Meguiars cleaner wax did wonders!

I can't agree with you more on the seat - and the high-rise spring needs to go away too. I think they might be Speedex pieces, but I'm not positive.
