radarme 15 #1 Posted July 31, 2012 I have an H55D I'm working on restoring.... One of the things it did while running is the dipstick kept popping out. It seems like the threads on the dipstick just can't grap the tube well enough. Maybe the gasket is too thick? The gasket is about 1/8" thick. If I take it off, it threads on down really tight. Any ideas? thanks
MarkPalmer 81 #2 Posted July 31, 2012 Make sure the engine's breather is working right and not allowing the crankcase to be under pressure which can pop the dipstick out. If that is OK and the threads are just worn, thinner gasket or new diptick would be in order. -Mark-
COMMANDO6 20 #3 Posted August 3, 2012 My H60 uses a washer-gasket thing that is as thick as cardstock.
radarme 15 #4 Posted August 4, 2012 The breather will get a nice cleanup and I think I'll just make a new gasket for the dipstick... Should fix it up. thanks
