jhunsch 20 #1 Posted July 28, 2012 Had some extra time so I put on a $5 speedometer Purchased on E-bay. It works just don't know how acurate it is. Time will tell. It comes pre set for 26" wheels so I left that setting. I put a self taper screw into a piece of wood to hold the display. Ran the wire down to another piece of wood (shovel handel) and mounted the pickup sensor on it with the self tapper off center. Made it off center so I would have some adjustment to play with. And the magnet that normaly goes on a wheel spoke, I just made this small bracket, drilled a hole in the edge of the rim. Used a small bolt & nut and then bent it it postion. This needs some testing and tuning, but it will never be really accurate. A separate wheel and speed sensor would provide more accurate readings. Once I start spining my forward ground speed in no longer correct. It becomes wheel speed. Or wheel spin.
