roscoemi 245 #1 Posted July 27, 2012 Found this at a yard sale. Tag hanging on is says it's a 1958. I have no idea what the Micky D's coffee cup is for or if the grill knob is an anti-boot-slip-off device. They are asking $325. I passed but am still curious as to what it is, it would fit my son. diesel cowboy 263 #2 Posted July 27, 2012 It looks like a Bolens ride-a-matic thats missing the hood and grill.
roscoemi 245 #3 Posted July 27, 2012 I could not find an id tag anywhere. It has a 9hp Kohler on it.
stevebo-(Moderator) 8,330 #4 Posted July 27, 2012 That is a 1958 Bolens Ride A Matic with 4 hp kohler by the looks. Here is the one I had that sold on ebay to Dave's tractor world for less than what this seller is asking.
VinsRJ 721 #5 Posted July 27, 2012 Steve is right on.... The thing about a Bolens of this vintage is they are very tricky.... you maybe able to sell it for big or it just sits forever. Missing the nose, hood and air cleaner hurts.
perry 82 #6 Posted July 27, 2012 I could not find an id tag anywhere. It has a 9hp Kohler on it. they did not make a 9hp K-series engine. looks to be a 4hp-7hp on there
SousaKerry 501 #7 Posted July 27, 2012 wow that hood just looks way too small for the tractor
rydogg 186 #8 Posted July 27, 2012 I have been doing some research on these since I would like to add one to my collection, they came in 2 different models the 20HD has the k90 (3.6hp) engine or the 21HD k160 (7hp). The first year of these was 1956 and the only engine option was the k90 in 1957 they offered the option of a larger engine in the Super Ride A Matic.
roscoemi 245 #9 Posted July 27, 2012 I remember the tag on the motor said K90. I've not been into tractors long and it meant nothing to me. If I could get it cheap, it would be a cool project for my 8 year old. Not interested in restoring it and the parts chasing involved. There's one alot like it with fewer parts in a yard just down the street.
Jake Kuhn 1,555 #10 Posted July 28, 2012 A kohler k90 is a 3.5hp engine. Looks like a pretty neat tractor, but the parts may be hard for you to find. Jake
