19richie66 17,508 #1081 Posted April 4, 2019 It’s a shame he took his own life. I really love his album “88 Elmira st.” . Some really good boogie on that one.
JCM 9,167 #1082 Posted April 4, 2019 @ebinmaine You picked a good video with those three, can't do too much better than that.If you have time check out a yt video Vince Gill killer guitar player song is Oklahoma Borderline, starts out slow but put your seatbelt on.Also Roy Buchanan is great. I hear Jeff Beck and Roy B. in a lot of Danny's playing. Jeff Becks Wired and Blow by Blow are good also. I started to listen to Vince Gill in 1990 but underestimated his playing until I heard OK borderline. Chet Atkins and Mark Knofler from Dire Straits on Neck & Neck is awesome as well.@19richie66 to bad a lot of the greats are not with us but may be entertaining others in what I hope is a very comfortable place.

19richie66 17,508 #1084 Posted April 10, 2019 I had a friend of mine turn me onto New Grass Revival one day. Needless to say I was hooked. The string work in a lot of thier songs is just amazing. Also Check out Jerry Reed/Chet Atkins album “Sneakin Around”.... it is great from start to finish. just watch out for the lead singer’s hair. 👍 2

tunahead72 2,412 #1087 Posted April 11, 2019 Yeah, I know the feeling. I'm just (barely) coming off an Ian Moore kick, and then my son and I went to see Blackberry Smoke last week, so I want to listen to more of their stuff, and Skynyrd, and now New Grass Revival sounds interesting. By the way, I believe that's Bela Fleck on the far right of that photo, he's worth checking out too, although I've really only heard some of his work with Gov't Mule, and on it goes.... Such problems.
19richie66 17,508 #1088 Posted April 11, 2019 (edited) Bela fleck on banjo.👍 Sam Bush on mandolin has a lot of good stuff himself. Here @ebinmaine spend some more 😁 Edited April 11, 2019 by 19richie66 1

JCM 9,167 #1095 Posted April 29, 2019 I have been listening to Jeff Beck & Roy Buchanan since the early 70's,I always contributed some hearing loss to working in the trade for many years but I think It may be due to the fact I listen to Roy B to loud with the headphones on did you check out that guy around 4.20 in front of that amp with his finger in his right ear,I feel his pain but would have traded that experience in a heartbeat. On another note it's hard to believe that Jeff B can play like that without a pick, amazing to say the least. Thanks for the videos.
formariz 11,987 #1096 Posted April 29, 2019 Roy was a great guitar player. Such a senseless loss . One wonders how it would be today if he was around.Very unique style. Jeff is just something else. Totally unique style and technique. There are a lot of different things going on simultaneously with that right hand. A pick would only restrict him.Sometimes its hard to believe that those sounds are coming from a guitar. No electronics involved. Such a great tone also and musicality from gentle subtelness to sometimes Turettes like attack.75 years old and still evolving and trying new stuff. Incredibly he can also play any genre with the same amount of skill.. Such a classy guy too. Never a "rock star pose" and when playing with other greats or anybody for that matter, always defers to them. All the marks of true greatness. 1
r356c 375 #1097 Posted April 30, 2019 My new favorite iconic road tune. It bumped Radar Love by Golden Earring. Panzer tank feel with an adult Snow White story line. Possibly a Florida theme park thing. I would pay to go on that ride! I read somewhere that the band composed this for a boxer. The count from one to ten for a knockout.
