LengerichKA88 1,883 #1036 Posted December 30, 2018 Was playing some music while doing some reading on Kohlers and heard this Jem come on. Was one of my dads favorite songs, didn’t quite get it as a kid, now it makes me laugh 😂

tunahead72 2,412 #1039 Posted January 11, 2019 This is not for everybody... I've been reading a new book called Been So Long by Jorma Kaukonen, almost definitely my all-time favorite guitarist, of Jefferson Airplane, Hot Tuna and various "solo" projects. It's a haunting read at times. I've seen him play at least 50 times, maybe 100 over the years, and I had no idea he's been fighting so many demons most of this time. So I've been listening to a lot of Airplane recently. The 1967 album After Bathing at Baxter's in particular has grabbed me hard. This came out the same year as Surrealistic Pillow, one of their most successful albums and still one of my favorites, with hits like Somebody to Love and White Rabbit. ABAB is nothing like SP. It's the Airplane at their most intensely creative psychedelic best, and it's also still one of my favorites. There's a whole story behind how I was introduced to this album (thanks Mom!), and I still have my original vinyl LP from (Good Lord!) probably 50 years ago. I dug it out just a few minutes ago, it smells... funny... like dried plant material or something. At any rate, one of my favorite pieces on this album is How Suite It Is, which is comprised of two tunes that blend together seamlessly on the album. I couldn't find a single video on YouTube that included them both, so this will have to do. I love Spare Chaynge especially, it's an extended instrumental jam featuring Jorma, bassist Jack Casady and drummer Spencer Dryden:
