JimD 3,345 #751 Posted January 28, 2016 Not even close. Anyone can stand up and scream into a microphone.
JimD 3,345 #753 Posted January 29, 2016 (edited) I think we could take this thread in a new direction and breathe some life into it by comparing "covers" to original songs and getting input from as many members want to participate. Not sure about all the screaming groups Craig, or heavy metal I guess you'd call it. Doesn't seem like music if you can't understand the lyrics and it's just loud screaming. Not my cup of tea but some folks like it I guess. Edited January 29, 2016 by JimD

Typical, going from one extreme to the other. Seems like you don't like the idea of really trying out what I was talking about but would rather make fun of it. Suit yourself. But ok, in all fairness I would pick the Word Crimes. At least it was informative and even educational about grammar.
JimD 3,345 #759 Posted January 29, 2016 TJ, for Running up that hill, I would pick the Placebo version. In your next post they weren't the same song so I couldn't compare them but I have to say, and I never thought I would, but i like Downpressor Man by Sinead O'Connor. JimD 3,345 #763 Posted January 29, 2016 (edited) Koen, for Hit the road Jack---- Ray Charles For The Wanderer----------------Dion For American Pie-----------------Don McLean I'm still stuck on the old stuff, but I know there are covers out there I might like more than the originals. 8 hours ago, TJ said: TJ, I'm trying to figure out who's who. JimD 3,345 #765 Posted January 29, 2016 (edited) Making it insulting and personal. Nice touch. Well, in the last five years I've managed to survive two types of cancer, and now I'm going to survive a third. You do this by ridding yourself of it and staying as far from it as you can get. So long! Edited January 29, 2016 by JimD

tunahead72 2,412 #768 Posted January 30, 2016 Paul Kantner, one of the founding members of Jefferson Airplane, passed away earlier this week. R.I.P. Paul, and thanks for the trips...
tunahead72 2,412 #769 Posted February 2, 2016 Pardon my self-indulgence, I'll be on an Airplane kick for a while... This is an early Paul Kantner tune: And a tune from one of Paul's early influences, a guy by the name of Freddie Neil:
tunahead72 2,412 #770 Posted February 2, 2016 Okay, last Airplane tune for now, I promise. As it turns out, Signe Anderson, the original female vocalist in the band, also passed away last week, on the same day Paul Kantner died, and at the same age. What the hell?!? May they both rest in peace. Here's one that highlights Signe's voice:
