I posted a full live set from these guys a couple of weeks ago, and I keep coming back for more.  They're a loosely southern rock band (think Allmans, Skynyrd, Little Feat, Dead) out of Maryland, I hope they do a tour up this way sometime soon, I'd love to see them live.

This song in particular has my ears lately.  As much as I love live shows, I also enjoy listening to the original studio version of songs, especially over a pair of headphones, eyes closed, you just pick up a lot of nuances in the sound that you can't possibly get at a live venue.

Once upon a time, there was a band in the Philadelphia area called The Future Unwritten, that over time evolved into another band called Eastern Elk.  I don't know much about these guys, except that I like some of what I've heard thanks to YouTube, and also that they apparently liked to party in the old days.

80’s, 90’s and random other music eras on YouTube as I relax after work and play Farm Simulator 25. I usually just start a random playlist, as I work on my fictional Forestry Products business in the game.

WHX??

So I lived thru six methods of music conveyance not counting radio...Tuna's old he prolly goes back to smoke signals.

Vinyl

Eight track

Cassettes

Reel to reel

CDs

Internet including other computer crap... flash drives, phones, Bluetooth...

Back in '79 when I lived in CT there was a rock radio station in Harford... WHCN I think... maybe one of you CT guys know.

They had a spot week nites where they would play hr half straight of stuff from one band. Doors, Clapton, ... what we now call classic rock.

We used to record them on cassette. Made for some great tapes.

We all had wicked audio setups back then ... real freaks about it. Receivers, amps, tuners, turntables, tape machines,  big speakers, big money.

Forums out there on it these days. Guess they call themselves audiophile.

OK sorry for the stroll down that lane.

So I still got all these cassettes and no way to listen 'cept the 95 GMC that eats them.

Got a converter thingy in the Jungle & crawled in the attic for an old player.

Not quite the quality what the frea..er .. audiophile would demand but bet if a guy was really good at it??

Anybody else do this?

Anyone know anything about Audacity?

I've never had a working 8 track player. Otherwise I'm with all above.

Not sure on that particular radio station.

I may have heard it from Athol MA.

There were a couple down around Springfield MA and Hartford CT I used to get.

Athol and Orange were down in a valley but that faced south.

Sunday evening maybe?? I used to listen to The King Biscuit Flour Hour.

Lots of older live concerts.

During the last few weeks of moving the Trina's Momma over here she popped out some records. She hasn't owned a record PLAYER in years.

Some good stuff in that pile. We'll be adding a cheapo modern player  soon.

This unit has a single speaker above it. See red circle below.

4 others in different locations.

The disc player is a CD 💿  only AFAIK, but holds 25 of em.

Neither did anyone else! LOL Quite possibly the worst thing invented to play music.

You had to wedge a matchbook in with them sometimes to get them to play right.

I wish I had a working cassette player.  I have about a hundred or so live bootleg tapes, and access to literally thousands of others at a friend's place, and no non-destructive way to listen to any of them.  It's on my list.

Jim, you ever watch any videos from Skylabs Audio on YouTube?  They're a small vintage audio equipment and sales company in Iowa, very easy to watch, not snobby at all.

You can have this one when I'm done dubbing. I'll probably never use it again & end up in a electronics recycling bin somewhere.

No never watched that will have to. I get on the tube I end up with music & ear worms. :)

Perfect!  Lately I try to keep it to music and motorcycles, maybe tractors, no politics!

Seriously?  I'll take it off your hands if you're otherwise just going to recycle it.  I'll pay you or buy you lunch or something, we can get together at the show.

Excellent sir, thank you, I'll take good care of it!  I'm good on turntables, but post it up here, I'm sure somebody will be interested.

I just had a little flashback to the very first time I heard Led Zeppelin on a decent stereo system, actually the second album (I was a bit behind the curve), on a full-size reel-to-reel player that a friend had gotten from his USMC dad, with headphones, just awesome!
