tunahead72 2,460 #2577 Posted September 29, 2024 Yeah, you're going to be away for a while. Don't forget his "solo" work, or his work with Railroad Earth, all great stuff!
wallfish 17,141 #2580 Posted October 23, 2024 Crossroads is one ICONIC song and done by many. The mystique of Robert Johnson's story is pretty interesting stuff and especially if you listen to the old stories of the old timer blues guys of that era.

tunahead72 2,460 #2586 Posted December 2, 2024 Always interesting to hear a decent cover of a favorite tune. The kid on guitar and vocals was 13 when this video first appeared, drummer a few years older, and bassist Tony Franklin has played with Jimmy Page and Paul Rodgers in The Firm, Kenny Wayne Shepherd... Of course, nothing beats the original...
tunahead72 2,460 #2587 Posted December 18, 2024 I've been thinking seriously about getting my motorcycle running again and getting back to riding, probably in the spring, while I still can. And to that end I've been inspired and educated by several YouTubers, among them a British fellow by the name of Stuart Fillingham, who uses this particular tune as background music in a lot of his recent videos. It's a very calming instrumental, reminds me a lot of a band called Railroad Earth, who among a lot of other things worked with Warren Haynes on his excellent Ashes & Dust album a few years ago.

As Hank Williams III says in "Dic in Dixie" "pop country really sucks" But mostly it is Classic Rock, Zeppelin, Floyd.... I also listen to metal like, Iron Maiden, Pantera... I'm with you!!!!!! tunahead72 2,460 #2589 Posted January 8 Early Rory Gallagher. This particular song reminds me of so many other bands of the same era, Cream, Mountain, Who, even Rush. Wish I'd known about Rory back then...
tunahead72 2,460 #2590 Posted January 8 I didn't recognize this one at first (it's a "newer" Grateful Dead tune), but it gets to me...
Pullstart 63,289 #2591 Posted January 17 @SousaKerry @Okie B60 you ever heard of this guy? He might be country, but there’s no pop in him.

That was pretty good and something I wouldn't have ever been exposed to otherwise
