B-8074 19 #1 Posted July 14, 2012 Whipped this up the other day. I haven't finished my front loader yet and need to move 7 tons of sand for my dad and 10 tons of limestone for my friends park I take care of. I think it should do the job. Anything is better than a wheelbarrow.

B-8074 19 #4 Posted July 14, 2012 Thanks, I didn't like the winch mounted up front so I moved it. It would smack the front tach matic when the scoop sprang up.
Hydro 131 #5 Posted July 14, 2012 Wow you make it sound like you put something in the oven and in 45 minutes it was done! That's a really great idea. Amazing
B-8074 19 #6 Posted July 14, 2012 Wow you make it sound like you put something in the oven and in 45 minutes it was done! That's a really great idea. Amazing Lol, It took a little longer than your average cake. I'm fortunate to have all the tools that make a job like this easy. I had the old plow frame and my friend had the swisher ATV bucket. And add in some steel from other projects I've done. It also helps to be able to take a whole day to yourself. It took me around 8 hours to work it all out and weld it up. smoreau 658 #10 Posted July 14, 2012 That swisher bucket from TSC is not cheep! I looked at one on clearance and my They wanted $250 for just the bucket! But I do think your set up is Sweet!! Looks like it will make short work of moving dirt compared to the shovel and wheelbarrow!

We needed to level to spot for the pool some more and I was able to dig out 6" of dirt.

B-8074 19 #18 Posted July 15, 2012 I'll get some more pics. As for the bucket I didn't fab it, its a swisher bucket. But it looks to be 3/16.
JUSS10 250 #19 Posted July 15, 2012 Very cool! I have the same bucket. Picked it up for $100. Plan to use it on a loader but till then it's mounted to my custom 3pt hitch on my 1054

B-8074 19 #21 Posted July 17, 2012 I had the winch mounted up front but it put a lot of stress on it so I moved it back by the mid tach- matic. You can see how the mounting plate bent under the stress. I added a make shift roller from an old jeep shackle and bushing.
M886 0 #22 Posted July 17, 2012 That's a sweet setup and great job. Better a little welding than a lot of shoveling.
SousaKerry 502 #23 Posted July 17, 2012 I've always thought about making a bucket that would basically use the plow for the back and quickly mount to the top lip. replace the springs with an actuator of some sort and away you go. But I never got a round to-it, got a square one but it doesn't work the same.... nice work though
B-8074 19 #24 Posted August 7, 2012 Here's a video I took. Sorry it's so shacky, it's hard to shoot and operate at the same time. I couldn't figure out how to make it play in the post. http://www.flickr.com/photos/51755530@N07/7732597926/in/photostream
