Save Old Iron 1,568 #2 Posted July 9, 2012 Is there a voltmeter or amp meter on this rider? The Briggs engine will have a single electrical connector near the engine which supplies charge current to the battery. The connector may be corroded. The connector also contains a diode which may be shorted. Google "Briggs alternator replacement" and download the customer education guide. The Briggs publication will help you identify which electrical connector you have. We can proceed with troubleshooting once your electrical connector has been identified.
