rubber hub grease cap on front wheel

hi what is the correct tractors that had the white rubbercaps the 70 dees wh and when did the black start on the front? white black or i see repros in red with logo. pick any color or does any one know what came on a 75 c-100 and what was on a 72 raider 8. thanks joe w i would like to put on the correct color one on them

As I think I understand it, on the 1.5" Front Wheel "Horse Head Logo" rubber Hub Caps: RED was offered starting in '67, standard on only some models each year, and until about 1982, (available as an option), the Black and the White ones were only a new model factory option in '68, (but was an option for just a few years until the inventory ran out). The 1.25" Hub caps were only for the smaller models and the A & B series (still available from many dealers), the 1.5" are for the Garden tractors, and C-series (but they do fit the 300-series, plus others), the GT-14 and the 1054 each need a 2" hub cap; and all pre-'63 would use the 15/8" hub cap on the original wheels, (we also have the 15/8", but it was not offered by Wheel Horse). All C-series would be Red Hub Caps, your Raider would also be Red..

Warm weather would allow the hubs to well/stretch and many did fall off easily, also some greases will chemically destroy the hubs. Most of the new hub caps (NOS) for sale on eBay are probably the smaller 1.4" size, unless their ad actually says 1.5". To keep the hubs looking like new & soft, spray some "Meguiar's Protectant" on them every 4-6 months, do this for all plastic & rubber on your tractor. Adding the (Red or Black) upper Spindle caps (on the axle) will greatly reduce dust & dirt getting into your spindles (free with our 1.5" Hub caps).

thanks for the info. i was told the raider came with white 1972 my c-100 no one can tell me and was told the black was in the 8tees. thanks for the info i guess you have all the color ones thanks i will pm you joe w

my early c,s have the white ones,i cant say thats orig as i havnt owned them since new,but it sure looks correct

I have a '75 C-100 and they are white, I am the second owner so I know they are original.

thanks i will put white on the c-100 and the raider8 will also get white. the 310-8 has black will keep the 310-8 black thanks joe w
