3rd Annual Mentone, Indiana GARDEN TRACTOR Show & Swap Meet - September 20 & 21, 2008, in the Mentone Park. Featured tractor is Wheel Horse.

Mentone is located 10 miles SW of Warsaw on IN-25, 30 miles South of South Bend or 40 miles West of Fort Wayne.

All brands of Garden Tractors will be on display.

I went to the one this spring and had a great time. :horseplay: This would be a great place for a meet & greet, its in a park so there is plenty of room. Ken Stephens makes some very cool reproduction Wheel Horse parts (I hope he brings some) . Its real close to Stephen's house too, so I hope he can make it this time B)

Same weekend as the Terra Haute show mentioned in another thread. I cant go to either, gotta work that weekend.

Being it's a saturday/sunday show I should be able to make it...atleast on a sunday?

I have missed the first 2 shows...I know Richard Layne & Ken Stephens whom put the show on & it seems to be takeing off.

Also thanks to Glenn for posting this early enough to mark it on the calander.

Hope to see some of you there....maybe even the Red Square Mafia Lincoln with TMO in the trunk. :whistle:

No parking doesnt sound good for trucks with trailers hauling in tractors. Did ya notice if they have someplace for truck parking?

Its a bit far off to be sure but sounds like a nice show to look over. B)

I am sorry I did not take any pictures from the spring swap meet.

There are a few grassy areas around the parking lot. The "parking lot" that I saw would hold about 10 carefully parked cars. But If your showing or swaping I would assume you can park in the grass with your rig and that might amount to 3 or 4 acres. Any cars "visiting" could park along the road when the lot is full.

I am sure if they have had this before....they have it figured out.

I guess these two guys running it aren't RedSquare members? Would be easier to ask. I will try to call them tomarow for more info.

I strongly doubt it if I can make the Mentone show, but Terre Haute is more of a possibility for me. But, I can't promise anything. I don't think the trunk in the red limo will be too comfortable. B)

Dale it truely is on the main drag. when comeing in from the north its on the left right next to the silo's, if you miss the turn then you just left Mentone :whistle:

I have a built in, innate ability to be on the wrong road, and drive for miles and not find something. That's why I ask for specific directions and addresses.

For instance, whenever I go somewhere new for work, and there are two driveways, odds should be 50/50 on me choosing the right one. In reality, it's more like 80/20 I pick the wrong one.

I never go anywhere when the best I get is, "Right there, you can't miss it."

When coming from the east on rt 25/west main st, Turn left on south oak and you will be in the park. If you yahoo map then go to the hybrid mode you will see what i mean.

I was there for the spring swap although small, I did get a garden haul for one of the GTs and had a good time. Still dont know if I'll make this one.

Steve, Now THAT I can work with!!! Thanks man! Not sure if I can make it or not, the missed time at work is still a consideration. 8 hours of vacation is a poor substitute for a 14 hour day. Plus, the cost of the trip has to be considered. However, if I could peddle something......... guess I better some new ads up!

Oh yeah, since I've got broadband, I find the hybrid feature VERY helpful. Study that a bit, and I can usually find my way in with only a couple of wrong turns. Hard to believe I drive for a living, huh? HEY, I'm paid by the hour, so what's lost? If the idiots in charge ever figure out how much GPS units would save the company in the long run, I'm in trouble! LOL

Also the sale of that sprayer might justify some missed work time.

Got over a month until this show so maybe I will wash the dirt off the Load Ranger, shoot some paint on it, then get the decals put on and take it over to the show. Maybe that will happen. B)

That is EXACTLY how I will be able to make it! I have Minnesota in a couple of weeks, hopefully I'll still have some funds left over from that, otherwise, I'm going to have to sell more than the sprayer. That IS a good start though!

One problem I see, I can haul smaller stuff ok, but larger items would negate a trailer, which means added expense, which means I'd have to sell more, which means a bigger trailer, which costs more, which means I'd have to sell more. I'm getting dizzy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! B)

I am dizzy too Dale.... It would not "negate" a trailer....it would "include" one for hauling!

Ummmmm....does that mean your bringing the sprayer or not?

Look at it this way.....If your dropping off the sprayer at my house....your actually saving on gas from less weight to haul the rest of the way!

Are you coming to Mentone or not? Can we organize a group gathering there or not? lol (this is getting monotonous....not!)

It would be nice to know who is "definately" coming and see if we can set up in an area together. Wish those i.d. buttons were ready....lol
