Wheel Horse Family

I have been going to the WHCCS for 5 years straight and have always had a great time and have met some wonderful people, but this year espeacially I truly felt like this was a family affair. Arriving Thursday at noon I could see coming around the corner that the grounds were alive with people and I thought to myself that our usual site would definitely be taken. After registering I found that our site was the only one in that row not occupied (and it was shaded!!!!), almost as if it was understood that it was our site. As soon as I got out of my truck I was greeted by our neighbor who was also our neighbor last year who remembered that my wife was pregnant last year and right away asked if I had had a boy or girl. That same kind soul offered my cousin and I a fan for that night to be able to sleep with that humidity and then offered us supper the next night. I must have been asked by at least two people how my father (formariz aka Cas) was and if he would be attending (retirement party my mother dragged him to on Friday). Our good friend Paul and Dawn from Canada not only brought an embroidered WH shirt for my son but also a Fire Dept patch from Paul's dept (both of us firefighters). My wife and son could not attend this year, but she was absolutely blown away by everyone's kindness and good wishes. We sincerely enjoy and look forward to this show every year because WH means more to us than a little red tractor. Thank you everyone and we are looking forward to next year.

My only request for next year would be that the national anthem and morning prayer be done on Saturday as well for those who could not make it the day before. I noticed that this year it was only done on Friday. This practice was something I always admired and enjoyed, and thought was very appropriate for a family function. Not to mention that for most of us the pride that we have for this brand is its very American story. Just my opinion.

It was good to see you again, you know both your dad and you mean a lot to me because of the enthusiam that you show for the Wheel Horses as a father and son. You mentioned to me about the national anthem being played on Saturday and I will try my best to get it done !

Good to see you again at the show. I agree that this is a family affair, and it is more than just tractors to me. I was honestly disappointed that some members that had been in our camping group in years past did not show up this year. I really missed them. But those that did show mean more to me than rusty old tractors do, and I look forward to the next time we will meet.

you are so right about the group of WH folks and that it's much more than just the RED metal that we love. just seeing all the kids riding around like I did when my Dad bought our 77 B-80, folks swapping war stories, catching up on family and friends...the internet has bought a lot of us together but meeting face to face is the best!

I have been attending for 3 yrs and only live 20 mins away...I don't mean that to rub it in but, being so close, I miss a lot by not camping at the site and next year...I will break out the camping stuff (retired Army, so I got it all) and will take Thur/Fri/Sat off from work and wake up to the flag of our great nation getting raised.

everyone I spoke to, I asked them if the knew or had joined RS and there was some that had no idea what I was talking about and most were only lurking.

Two phrases that I heard several times about the Annual Wheel Horse Show are "Family Oreinted" and "Fellowship" ...... now you tell me what other events can say that ?
