My 1965 855

WheelHorse855

Hey guys, sorry i hadn't signed up for this earlier, but i am restoring an 855. I am 14, and need to pull in this september's tractor pull. I got this for free from my mom's friend, and had no idea what model it was. however, i found the serial number tag, and found it was an 855. what i know is hat it was produced in 1965, and what i've been told is pretty rare. I am currently in the sandblasting stage, but i have a couple pictures on my phone that i took while taking it apart. I am going to be using the international harvester red paint, and i bought an extra IH white (off-white) and will be custom painting this baby. I have a couple problems, though. My battery will not hold it's charge, and it is not the battery. Any idea? and i need a THROTTLE cable, if any of you spot one suitable for that year. I also need good pulling tires, 23/8.50/12. Any help, i will greatly appreciate.

Good luck with the pulling business when you get to that point. Post a wanted ad in our classified section for the throttle cable. Original motor with a starter gen? If so the voltage regulator is probably your charging problem.
