Guys- call me crazy-but I bought the Miller stuff for my 656-then I used it on my vintage RV tires-seemed to rejuvenate the rubber-says on the bottle it protects UV damage also-Good product-Al

Craig, I think you got me off the fence as far as what to use when I get to the tires on my Suburban. Also with the paint. I'm liking some things about the Valspar and I was just looking at it yesterday at Walmart. Yes, the antique white.

You can count on it once I get there. I like the clean flatter look on my tires. I never use a treatment that gives a gloss black on my truck tires. As you said, just another option so folks can do what they like best. I'm in no rush to get to my tires and rims. I like the rolling cart thing that my Suburban is sitting on now and I'm hoping to find some ags for the back. I know once I take the time to refinish the wheels a set of mounted ags will show up.

I'm still using my original $20.00 per gallon can of Home Depot satin black latex paint that I bought about 3 years ago. I diluted it 50/50 with water, and it works like a charm. If someone can show me how their tires painted with Miller look better than mine, I will be surprised. I have taken the Commando 8 to 4 shows since the tires were painted, driven in dust, mud, cinders and what have you. Just prior to the "infamous back-flip", I had rinsed the tires in preparation for the WHCC show. As you can see from the picture below, the tires still look like "new".

 

 

 

 

On the other hand, maybe that had something to do with the...naa.

Those do look great Bob. But it seems like you went through a lot of trouble getting them to pose like that for the picture though.

Anybody ever try VHT vinyl dye on tires? I've used it on small rubber, vinyl and plastic items and steering wheels, it always makes them look new. This thread just got me wondering how it would work on tires.

Although it would probably do okay, that would be an expensive way to color the tires.
