After looking at a bunch of Suburban pics today it seems that the fenders are on the right way. Does anyone know what color the seat back spring bracket should be?

I'm going to pull the Techy today and have another look at it. Its easier to work on with it off the tractor. I know that once I find the problem that is giving this motor a headache she'll run decent enough.

For what it's worth, our 64 604 bought brand new had a red seat spring and seat back spring

Always good to meet the members. Yep Ken, sounds like a Techy, I have a feeling that is caused by the governor...very touchy. I like the back rest on that horse. See you guys in a couple of days. :)

I have managed to get this running somewhat better. 3 carb cleanings just about did it! Don't get me wrong here, I have had some Techy's in the past that ran flawless. I had a 604 a few yrs. back that had its original motor on it that was never rebuilt. Sure, it smoked like crazy but that engine still fired right up and ran great! Nice and smooth too.

How thorough were the carb cleanings Ken, did you have to completely disassemble it to get it running better?

I took the carb apart each time and dunked it in carb cleaner. They don't make that carb cleaner in the gallon cans nearly as strong as they used to!

My Clinton LMG still doesn't run good after countless cleanings and adjustings. At this point I'll see how it runs in PA. Wish me luck.

And I just found out I can not put a three point hitch from a economy/powerking on mine because it because it is missing the brackets on the frame which were added later in 1973... So if I want one it will have to be a custom job =[
