CRE1992 135 #1 Posted June 10, 2012 I saw an add on craigslist about a suburban. So I showed the link to the breakfast club members (aka the guys always on chat). With enthusiasm they said I am out of my mind if I don't go get it. (AKA Stevebo) So I sent the guy an email immediately after I saw it on craigslist anyways. Everyone thought I was too late until I got a call from the guy who owned it in the morning the following day. Unfortunately I could not leave to work to go get it. So I asked the nice man who owned if he would hold it until later that night. And I went and picked it up. The price was most certainly right. Has the deck and plow. It came with all of the guards, mower belt guard, exhaust heat shield, and the trans belt cover. The engine unfortunately though being original has a broken connecting rod. Oh and it has something else. They are quite rare from what I hear, check out the last picture. Unfortunately, due to my current situation, I am not keeping it. I am passing it along to another fellow member who along with his son CANNOT wait to get it. Hopefully he will enjoy it along with the other round hoods he has. I will let him reveal himself if he so chooses too. However I am keeping the things in the last picture. ENJOY -Charles BUT LETS NOT FORGET ABOUT THESE! (Sorry Craig [ amcrules00 ], I am keeping these too. =] )

rj35hunter 283 #13 Posted June 10, 2012 Wow, that is a nice original survivor!!! Is your plans to put it all back, get it running & keep it original? Most 551's are restored or in bad shape. Nice find!!!
Ken B 3,164 #14 Posted June 11, 2012 Wow, that is a nice original survivor!!! Is your plans to put it all back, get it running & keep it original? Most 551's are restored or in bad shape. Nice find!!! Yes, my plans are to do what needs being done to the engine and keeping it original. Once it is up and running my 9 yr. old son will use it mostly. He has been begging me for an electric start tractor. We are both very excited and can't wait to get it, even though I'm 44 y/o I still get excited like a little kid. Much thanks goes out to Charles for totally hooking me up with this tractor! You da man.

wallfish 17,140 #16 Posted June 11, 2012 That is nice! The mount for the snow blade is for an RJ. The suburban mounts just come out in front and bolt to the sides of the frame. That RJ setup hangs under the frame and goes up and around the front axle.
