RussC 1 #1 Posted June 4, 2012 Hi, my name is Russ and I've got an old, well worn 416-8 that my dad bought new in about 85' IIRC that inspite of being an awesome tractor for him, now needs some serious love. I was given the tractor after I lost my lawn mower and most of my money to buy a new one after a divorce and I was only going to get by with it until things improved financially, but now I've come to realize that my dad who is getting on in years and rapidly declining physically, was really bitten by the Wheel Horse bug. He asks me how the machine is doing on a regular basis and even gives it a long look when he sees it, like he misses it. He bought a fancy new John Deere to replace this one and yet he has stated many times that it's not half the machine that the old Wheel Horse is. I guess what I'm saying is that this machine is apparently going to be a tangible link to my dad in the years after he passes, and thus I want to restore it to it's former glory and functionality. Consequently I'm pretty enthused about finding this forum and hopefully I'll be able to give back in some way as well as partake of the knowledge here. Thanks for reading! I'll post pics soon, I've got a new computer and inspite of what the ad said it doesn't have to correct card reader for my camera.
