This is what I call a "Mop & Glow" freshen up. All of the tractor was taken apart and E-tanked, wire wheeled, primed, and painted with a radal can. Changed the trans pulley from a 3" to a 2" to make it about the same top ground speed as the other tractors. New tires and some new stickers I got from Terry 1 1/2 years ago when I bought the tractor. Should look good for her to cruse around at the show! She doesn't like the new top speed with dad watching, but I know when I;m not watching she will open it up with a big smile on her face!! The hood still needs many hours of work to get the dents out and looking good again. Planning on doing that Sun morning and have a coat of paint in it by Sun night. Next weekend is Railroad days at Junction Vally Railroad witch will take up 75% of my weekend. so that gives me limited time to finish things up!

Looks great Scott. I remember your daughter riding around the show last year. :) I think the Penn show and the Charlotte show are the only 2 shows where the kids can just ride horses around all day...pretty cool.

Looks great Scott, and kids and adults riding tractors around is what makes a show fun, you can sit and watch the kids all day, I know my kids go through enough gas to mow my lawn for a month, but I don't care they are having fun, can't wait to see Gabby on he new ride at the show.

My buddy Tom and I went to the West Branch tractor show today, I found only 4 horses there and not one of them looked very good. 2 in the venders, and 2 in the show. Still was a nice show to go see and had a good time. got home around 5 and I got the carb fixed and working good again on the lawn ranger. Rust was built up around the main jet from the bolt that holds the bowl on. after a good cleaning and some adjustments Gabby and I took it for a ride. But before that the right front tire developed a leak in the new tube, good thing I had 4 tubes for this, now one spare. The first set of tubes were destone;s and they were made in china, the others were firestone and mads in USA! After comparing them side by side there is a very noticeable deference in quality! And the firestones were cheaper! The destones came with the tires from evil bay. Still haven't messed with the charging system, just charged the battery. Did get some more work done on the hood, I'm not a body man and I'm doing my best, but these round hoods are a bare to get to look right! thinking of just painting it the way it is and living with the little imperfections in my body work.

Well after spending the last 7 hours priming, filling, and wet sanding, I finally have some red on the hood, it looks good, but not perfect. But I have to remember that this tractor will be run by my daughter and I know she will get some dents and marks in it. I guess that is as good as it will get for a rattle can paint job. She will be very pleased with it when it's done. I know I am very happy with the way it has come out so far. I will post some pics after it drys some more as I have it in my make shift paint room with the eden pure cranked up on high to help the paint cure. its about 85 deg with low humidity.

And here are the pics of the hood as promised. Paint is still soft, but has a good hard shell on it and looks nice for my rattle can paint. Should be able to handle in about a day and get mounted on the tractor for some pictures.

Thanks guys, She can't wait to get back into the seat of her tractor again. She was begging to take it for a spin today, but I had to say no because some touch up paint was drying. Boy does that little tractor go now that I changed the trans pulley! It will keep up with my 520 with the 26-12-12's on the back. still got to check the charging system and figure out a guard for the starter generator. The standard k181 is just too large, going to have to make it I guess.

Well Gabby got to drive her tractor today and it's as done as its going to be for the show. We took her lawn ranger and it's bigger brother the 875 for a 2 mile cruse and turned a lot of heads around where we live. I need to build a belt guard for the starter generator belt, but just don't have the time as I have a lot to do this weekend. just to much to get ready before the show. I think it looks very nice for a rattle can mop and glow paint job. Gabby really likes it and will proudly be showing it off at the show! So hear are the pics and yes the lens of my phone camera has a smudge on it causing the left side pics to be a little blurry. I didn't realize it tell I loaded them to my laptop. but here they are.

That is one of the nicest, if not the nicest Lawn Ranger I have seen. Very nice! The Kohler was a great choice and a serious upgrade. Don't want your daughter messing around trying to start a pull start Techy! Okay, for the record I'm now looking for a Lawn Ranger.

At the Zagray Farm show I was at this past weekend with my ten yr. old son Cole, for the most part the only garden tractors you see actually see riding around at the show are the Wheel Horse's. I may not work the RJ's or Suburbans I've restored but they get plenty dirty riding them around at a show. I laugh as I drive by all of the restored Cub Cadets that still have the last shows dust on them!
