Forest Road 594 #1 Posted June 1, 2012 Just picked up a 1975 original C 160 auto. At first glance my wife said she liked the look of it. When she heard how old it was she couldn't believe the condition, this woman has seen a lot of tractors in the past two years. Today she said she really likes the looks of it as compared to my 300s. Needless to say I have every intention of keeping this one. The original owner bought it with a 48" deck for his 1/2 acre yard. The second onwer only used it for grass for the last few years. An hour meter shows 500 hours and i'm willing to bet it was put on there right from the very beginning. Strong hydro, smooth motor, good original tires, and flawless sheetmetal. And the original seat is a home run!!! All she needs now is some minor tlc and off she goes to the family get away!

smoreau 658 #19 Posted June 2, 2012 That c160 is well taken care of! I have a rusty 74 that I hope to get cleaned up and looking nice again that spent a few years outside and rusted up but has low hours. it runs like a champ! and every thing works as it should, just is a rusty diamond in the ruff! Mine has the same spot for the hour meter and it should have been a factory option in my opinion. Sweet find! and the wife likes it! You got a keeper for sure! squonk 41,166 #20 Posted June 2, 2012 I love my C! Thanks for posting that last pic of the hour meter. The parking brake decal is shot on mine. I thought the decal there was for the parking brake but wasn't sure and was going to post a question about it.
Forest Road 594 #21 Posted June 2, 2012 Thank you! And yes I'll be keeping my wife and the tractor. This is the first tractor she's actually made NICE comments about. I'm still in shock. However sweety pie does enjoy driving them around and pulling the kids on sleds in the winter. Apparently it was repainted once upon a time. The guy went around the decals. Its not too bad. But everything else is original. I wont be looking for a NOS muffler anytime soon. I'm thinking of making it a stack set up. I spent some time degreasing it today. Repaired a couple frayed wires, new fuel line and filter. Air filter, spark plug, engine and trans oil soon. Maybe a set of tires and a comfy seat at the big show?
