Hodge71 664 #1 Posted May 30, 2012 Ok does anybody know about this colaboration between AMC and Wheel Horse in 74/75? I would gladly trade/sell everything I have Wheel Horse wise for one of these :hide:
Wheel Horse Kid 105 #2 Posted May 30, 2012 I have never seen one of those before, but that is absolutely awesome! I bet those are really rare and worth ALOT! I would love to know more info about them too!

SousaKerry 501 #4 Posted May 30, 2012 74/75??? Looks like later as that is a modified blackhood which was not rolled out until late 1980. It sure looks like a promotional one off though.
AMC RULES 37,132 #5 Posted May 30, 2012 Looks easily achievable with virtually any model...all you need is a little custom sheet metal work, and you're there. .
GlenPettit 1,716 #6 Posted May 30, 2012 Here's a picture of the Wheel Horse Jeep Jr "Golf Cart style" and also the article that was posted about it 3-years ago. I really do like the Jeep Trac and would love to get one, or at least look at it up close, especially since I already am a Jeep person (naturally, my Jeep is in Candy Apple Red).. Only 3 prototypes were made in 1978, this one was for sale in '09. AMC acquired Wheel Horse, from 05/74 to 01/82, and then TORO took over in 1986.
Forest Road 594 #7 Posted May 30, 2012 AMC bought WH around that time. My dad recalls a few WHs at the shop then. Having one of those would be fun!!!
CasualObserver 3,408 #8 Posted May 30, 2012 That yellow one was written up back in 2009 in the LAGC magazine... and the Jeep Jr was on ebay a few years back. There's discussion in the archives on them somewhere (Glen's pic)... I'll see if I can find some for you guys. Never know... these topics may have been lost in the battle for RS independence. CasualObserver 3,408 #9 Posted May 30, 2012 found one and bumped it. (it's down in non-tractor discussions) the yellow one was in a late summer/early fall LAGC. Around Aug or Sept 2009. Maybe Kate will notice this and post up the article for you guys.

C-85 686 #12 Posted May 30, 2012 I've always loved :wub:Jeeps (pics of my '79 CJ-5) and Wheel Horses and I've never seen this Jeep Trac before, but that is one very cool tractor! If they had marketed them and sold them I'll bet they would have moved a lot of them! Just look at all the Jeep stuff you can buy today like luggage and baby strollers. Thanks for sharing that picture! C-85

312Hydro 474 #18 Posted May 30, 2012 Gonna do it Rich? It is now set as my computer wallpaper. Definitely need more research before I could start that. Haven't found anything other than a reference to Lawn and Garden Collector magazine Sept. 2009. Volume 3 issue 5 That's a project that for me might go longer than Ian's 6x6! And Ian knows what he's doing! I'm really liking it though.
