can whlvr 993 #1 Posted May 30, 2012 so my 1989 414 was running rough,so i thought i will pull the carb and clean her up,i take her off and apart, and i look at the jet in the middle,(ive read on brian millers site no need to remove)and think i should drive that out from the top to clean and soak it,well this turned out to be a really bad idea, the jet is not like a removable one from my older k series, its a connector tube to the hole in the top of the carb body,so i completely wrecked the top of the tube and also the seal it has on the top of the tube, but i noticed that the throttle shaft is loose at both ends, any one ever reinstall this tube if its even available anymore with good results,i have a spare carb from an older kohler,so im not stuck but i dont want to be left without a spare carb on the shelf, its handy, anu input appreciated,or will i have to send her to brian miller,or buy a used one,or a new one from ebay??? CRE1992 135 #2 Posted May 30, 2012 I can get a new Kohler Carter Carb for $140ish. However I don't know how much shipping would be.
