1maidenfan 202 #26 Posted June 1, 2012 Melodic, but definitely edgy is Five Finger Death Punch, or just 5FDP...catchy name huh? Always get's me where I'm going a lot quicker when I listen to 'em in the car. Might give 'em a try too, lot's of their stuff out there on youtube. Wasnt 5fdp what killed david carrodine in "kill bill"? Good band too. Ever heard of "disturbed" I like 'em cause a couple of there songs remind me of Judas Priest. Coadster32 793 #27 Posted June 2, 2012 Ever heard of "disturbed" I like 'em cause a couple of there songs remind me of Judas Priest. I saw Disturbed about 6 years ago. They came with Linkin Park and Slipnot. Great show. Down with the sickness anyone?? The lead singer from Judas Preist, Rob Halfreid, started another band when priest broke up called Fight. Their first album was really good, "War of Words". I saw them in concert as well. Their second ablum...not so much. That had to be 10+ years ago now too. Now it's disney on ice for me.... can whlvr 993 #29 Posted June 4, 2012 Great thread. I live by this..."If it's too loud...you're too old". Have seen many of these bands, but I have to say I was most impressed by Rush (seen them twice)...their music in concert for 3 guys is something else. I have been to an early Kiss concert also...Priest opened for them...God of Thunder (Gene Simmons). :bow-blue: ive seen rush many times, they are from i hour from me originally, there first album has a song working man that has a guitar riff that is one of the best ive ever heard, and zepplin is my fav band so to say alex leifson is in jimmys league is a huge compliment

OMG,,,,,,,, you could sleep through that music LOL long live Simon & Garfunkel although i think Sabbath were a good band In the clearing stands a boxer.... AMC RULES 37,126 #34 Posted June 11, 2012 OOF...you got that right Chris...much worse. Actually, the hair bands weren't so bad...mostly their power ballads that turn my stomach.

Horse'n Around 22 #37 Posted June 13, 2012 My Nephew Judd who is like a son to me is taking me to see Van Halen this saturday for my birthday. I have seen VH (Van Hagar) 6 times and once with Gary Cherone times but never with Roth. In a way, as a huge VH Fan I wish Michael Anthony was still with them, but I cant blame Eddie for wanting his son Wolfgang to be in the band either. In any event, I cant wait. Avenged Sevenfold rocks big time. Being a drummer myself, I always admired the skills of their origional drummer The Rev . He was a freakin funny guy and an incredible drummer but sadly he went the way of so many others before him and died of a drug overdose a couple of years ago. Mike Portnoy formerly of Dream Theater who is another incredible drummer is now playing for them. As for Sabbath, Id love to see them, they are the origional Metal band, theyre iconic. I feel like their "reunion tour" would mean a lot more if Bill Ward was going to be playing with them. The band hired Tommy Clufetos to play drums and Im sure hes a great drummer and more than qualified or he would'nt be playing with them. From what Ive read they were offering Bill peanuts compared to Tony,Geezer and Ozzy. Bill is an origional member just like the other 3 and in my eyes they should just take an even 25%. Its sad when egos ruin a good thing. Theres always two sides to every story and maybe theres more to it all than I know but everything Ive read so far leads me to believe its true.
