Is it normal for the 1100 eaton to freewheel momentarily down steep hills?

Mine does if I'm going slow, it will speed up for a little ways (couple feet), at least one does I'll have to drive the others down the little hill to see if they do.

It's pretty steep, about 20 feet long and I can't see over the top if I stand at the bottom. No tire slip. Just acts like it's starving for oil momentarily. If I don't slow it with the DCL it will coast and about 1/2 way down it will pull in and pick the engine up enough to back the govenor off to slow itself down. Think the pump pully could be outrunning the engine pully? If I slow it sooner with the DCL, when I turn around back and go forward again I get a little shudder. Only ever does it after I go down the hill.

So my new to me 418-A does some of this -- Any change in direction of grade (uphill to downhill or downhill to uphill) result in a momentary "lack of full hydro engagement???" -- I guees that would be the best way to describe it -- And it is most pronounced as Callen described when starting a steep downhill -- There is a momentary acceleration until the hydro starts holding the tractor back -- Now I don't get the 'shudder' that Callen mentioned -- And all of this can be controlled with active movement of the MCL -- So I have the same question -- Is this normal hydro behavior or something else??
