Hydro Foot Pedal finally installed

Will this foot control fit on other WH hydro tractors, or just the 500 series?

I had some trouble with the auto centering device. The parts wore a groove in it and was binding bad. I just removed the spring and life is good. It couldn't ever adjust it well enough for it to return to neutral when you removed your foot off the pedal anyway so I just got use to driving with both feet.

KC9KAS, this kit should work with any hydrostatic wheelhorse at least into the early 80's I would think.

I also installed one of Matt's foot pedals back in July. Love it. Now I can steer with two hands or use one hand to push branches out of the way while still moving forward. It would get tiring holding the column lever continuously while mowing, or just driving around. I could never get the tension on the hydro cam just right that it would be easy to adjust the speed while also holding that speed by itself. I left the column lever in place and just removed the switch with the detent for reverse. I find it easier to use the lever for reverse vs the reverse foot pedal.

One note of caution. My '93 520H has the 48" deck with the va-bagger and when you mount the blower fan on the deck, WH gave you a different deck hanger - one with three support bars to help with the extra weight of the blower. Turns out the third hanger bracket interferes with the pedal hardware when you go to raise the deck. Since I had the old two hanger bracket still, I just changed it out to solve the interference issue. Didn't seem to make a difference in quality of cut that I can see.

Some pic's showing the pedal install and the 3-bar deck hanger. The right most hanger bar hit the pedal motion rod when you raised the deck. The standard hanger doesn't have this bar. Just a word of caution for anyone adding the foot control to a WH with a vac-bagger equiped deck.
