Fluid level

Upon pooring 4.5 quarts of 10/30 into my 81 C-125 hydro the level is 1 inch above full. I have run motor four or five times to distribute oil. Should I pull the drain plug to bring down level or should I cut my half

acre yard to see if level comes down? This is my first time changing the hydro oil, I usually run my eight speed.

my 2cents is, Too much fluid + too much pressure =bad things like blown gaskets. drain out some and add small amounts.. I think the Eaton manual states adding 4 qts (for my 520-H) and then add a little bit at a time until its at the correct level (max 5 qts).
