that tractor should have the square gear boxes but they are on a suburban deck ... i will post pictures of my 55 with mower deck in a few..

Do you think i could take the square gear boxes from the one deck and put them on the shell that goes to the RJ-35?

I see no reason why not. I also think that tractor should not be restored rather put back together with the right parts. Looks great !

I agree. I doubt I will restore it. Do you have any idea what model number the older deck would be so I can look up parts, etc.
