Pollack Pete 2,273 #1 Posted April 27, 2012 Ran into an old friend today that I haven't seen in a couple years.Conversation turned to cars, then trucks, then my Wheel Horse addiction, of course. He says,ya want another one for your collection? I said, certainly. How much?he says, come get it.You'll save me from pushing it to the road and putting a free sign on it.Of course,I was at his house in less than an hour to pick it up.It's the 1980 C-145 automatic that he had bought brand new.I guess the hydraulic lift valve started leaking real bad,he took it apart, and said screw this and got tired of working on it.Yes.......those are the hoses he cut off the control valve in the third picture.I see on Partstree that they're no longer available.Anyone here know if a hose shop could make new ones up?Now I have no idea if the valve was leaking or one of the hoses.I have no idea why he cut the hoses instead of unthreading them.I couldn't complain though, the tractor was free.Even has a super nice 48 inch mower deck. The only thing he kept was the battery. Kelly 1,029 #2 Posted April 27, 2012 Looks like a nice pretty clean tractor bummer they cut the lines, oh that is a 42" deck.
Pollack Pete 2,273 #3 Posted April 27, 2012 Sure is a bummer Kelly. Those hoses all have swivel ends.No reason to cut them.I didn't measure the deck.Just took it for granted it was 48 in.cause it barely fit between the wheel wells of my F-350.

pfrederi 17,634 #6 Posted April 27, 2012 If the swivel nut ((into the valve) is 5/8 it is ORB #5 if it is 11/16 it is ORB 6. You want 1/4" SAE100R3 hose. Many hydro shops will try to use R2 hose (more widely used) but it is for higher pressure and is too stiff to make the bends you need. Note if you need the ORB #5 some shops won't carry things that small. I buy the fittings and hose from www.discounthydraulichose.com make the hoses and take them to my local hydro shop. He crimps them for coffee and a donut.
