Let summer commence! (Pic Heavy)

Recommended Posts

Paul D.

Went and pulled the grill out of storage Today. Since I finished building it a few years ago this has been the start of summer for my family and my neighorhood. We have block parties atleast once a month with it and I drag it out to the ballpark for weekend tournyments to cook for the masses. It's a great time for me and it's a good way to help- raise funds for the ballpark that my kids play ball at Of all the things I have built over the years there is nothing that I am prouder of than my grill and anytime I get a chance to cook on it I am all over it! Here are some pics of my baby.

Awsome!! How come I dont see a plate on the back? Do you not need to register it?

I know the grill on the back deck at my house doesn't have a plate  , but doesnt have 14" wheels either!

I do get some looks hauling it down the highway but it's a grill going 70mph. Your going to get that. As for the license plate, at least here in Michigan I don't need one. It's not a trailer, it's an implement. Like a log splitter. When I tried to register my other trailer (a big charcoal cooker) at the secretary of state they told me I didn't have to. The only time I've had a cop stop to talk to me was when I was filling up at the gas station and he came over just to check it out and get the tour. I do have working lights on it but that's more for safety as it doesn't legally even have to have those. I could just throw a reflective triangle on it.

Sent from my iPhone using
Tapatalk

I just wish it wasn't as heavy so I could pull it around with my horse. At least I can still pull around my charcoal trailer :angry-extinguishflame:

The frame is about 300lb. and that is all regular steel with a nice heavy coat of paint but everything else is stainless and that is about another 1000lb.

As much as I would love to that is a little far for me to go... At least this year

Thats my neighbors jeep in the background. It is his baby and he has customized it quite a lot.

Thanks for all the comments guys, My neighbor helped me out a ton getting this project done. We have about 6 months and best we can figure about 20 cases of beer into this project. And that doesn't count what we drank cooking on it since we finished building it :banana-dance:

I see the Jeep dealer has a 2012 model Wrangler in that color right down the road from me. Is it Safety Green, Go Green or Lime Green? Or all three?

I'm not sure what green it is. It's not the original paint he just has a strange sense of humor.
