Paul D. 26 #1 Posted April 7, 2012 Got to put I a garden at the in-Laws today. It was pretty tough going, alot of clay in the soil. That 14 horse kohler didn't even struggle but my clutch plate kept slipping. Don't know if there is an adjustment for that or if I need to replace it. Anyone with any input on that I would greatly appreciate. Here are some pics cause I know we can't live without those. before I got started Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
AMC RULES 37,125 #2 Posted April 7, 2012 Wow, looks like the tiller made short work of it...approximately how much time did it take you to achieve that level of soil prep Paul?
Paul D. 26 #3 Posted April 7, 2012 It only took an hour and a half to two hours. And only about a gallon of gas! I really expected it to be an all day affair but it really nicked it out. Like I said the only down side was my pulley slipping. I wouldn't have been surprised to have the belt slip, but the pulley really surprised me. KyBlue 655 #5 Posted April 8, 2012 My rod is all the way in, so I added a couple shims on the bearing for the pulley ... works good, thou need to add another one now, its been a couple years and its worn down a bit ... Garden Looks terrific! I was just working on mine.
Paul D. 26 #6 Posted April 8, 2012 I do have some adjustment in the rod. Thanks for the tips guys. I do notice that you can see the rivets on the plate. Is this like brake pads where if you can see them they need to be replaced? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
KyBlue 655 #7 Posted April 8, 2012 Only if the rivets are touching... if you still have adjustment ... then i'd say your good.. mine has no more adjustment.
bowtiebutler956 650 #8 Posted April 8, 2012 Yep, what he said. If the rivets aren't touching, just tighten up the adjustment, and keep on tilling. Matt :flags-texas:
KyBlue 655 #9 Posted April 8, 2012 Oh i'd suggest taking some 80 grit on a DA to the metal surfaces and some 120 on the clutch disc to break the glaze...
Paul D. 26 #10 Posted April 8, 2012 Oh i'd suggest taking some 80 grit on a DA to the metal surfaces and some 120 on the clutch disc to break the glaze... That's a great idea. They are pretty shined up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Paul D. 26 #11 Posted April 8, 2012 You will notice I kept the edge of the garden just far enough away from the edge of the woods that this fall the deer will have to come all the way out to snack. Guess where my tree stand will be. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Paul D. 26 #13 Posted April 8, 2012 As I see it. The deer are just one more thing for me to harvest out of the garden. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
