Got to play in the dirt today!!

Got to put I a garden at the in-Laws today. It was pretty tough going, alot of clay in the soil. That 14 horse kohler didn't even struggle but my clutch plate kept slipping. Don't know if there is an adjustment for that or if I need to replace it. Anyone with any input on that I would greatly appreciate. Here are some pics cause I know we can't live without those.

Wow, looks like the tiller made short work of it...approximately how much time did it take you to achieve that level of soil prep Paul? :scratchead:

It only took an hour and a half to two hours. And only about a gallon of gas! I really expected it to be an all day affair but it really nicked it out. Like I said the only down side was my pulley slipping. I wouldn't have been surprised to have the belt slip, but the pulley really surprised me.

I do have some adjustment in the rod. Thanks for the tips guys. I do notice that you can see the rivets on the plate. Is this like brake pads where if you can see them they need to be replaced?

Only if the rivets are touching... if you still have adjustment ... then i'd say your good.. mine has no more adjustment.

Yep, what he said. If the rivets aren't touching, just tighten up the adjustment, and keep on tilling.

Oh i'd suggest taking some 80 grit on a DA to the metal surfaces and some 120 on the clutch disc to break the glaze...

That's a great idea. They are pretty shined up.

You will notice I kept the edge of the garden just far enough away from the edge of the woods that this fall the deer will have to come all the way out to snack. Guess where my tree stand will be.

As I see it. The deer are just one more thing for me to harvest out of the garden.
