1maidenfan 202 #1 Posted April 5, 2012 My father and I have been collecting Zippo lighters for some time now, have had wheel horse tractors for around 10 years. I have looked and looked for a Zippo lighter with a wheel horse tractor or logo on it, as of today...No luck Any one ever seen one or better yet have one they are willing to part with. :text-thankyouyellow:

nylyon-(Admin) 7,479 #3 Posted April 5, 2012 At least ONE certainly exists. It was offered for sale by Michael Martino a couple years ago with the proceeds going towards Max Nunn. I don't know if it sold or not though.
CasualObserver 3,410 #4 Posted April 5, 2012 I didn't save the information on the brand of lighter, but I saved this picture from ebay several years ago. You'd be amazed at what trinkets and novelty items are out there with various Wheel Horse dealer names and logos on them. I check every swap meet I go to for this kind of thing in those little junk stands with the glass cases full of matchbook, election pins and bullet pencils. You just never know when you mind find something of interest!
Herbl 10 #5 Posted April 5, 2012 I believe that lighter is a scripto and not a zippo, just thought I would let everyone know....

I don't know if it sold or not though. Isn't this the guy that put out the "wheel horse" book ? How great would that be to get one of my most sought after zippos from him. Any help on this is would be great. Thanks. I didn't save the information on the brand of lighter, but I saved this picture from ebay several years ago. GlenPettit 1,717 #10 Posted April 7, 2012 It is possible to have 'Custom Zippo Lighters, (ie: Wheel Horse)' made by the Zippo Company, which makes it an official Zippo, and the per unit cost isn't too high, looks like a person can order just a few at a time, look at the details here: http://www.zippo.com/ Also, the history of the Zippo lighter is very interesting, on Google . . . SALTYWRIGHT 859 #11 Posted April 7, 2012 I HAVE A ZIPPO LIGHTER THAT WAS GAVEN TO ME WHEN I WENT INTO THE ARMY IN 1953.IT IS ENGRAVED WITH THE WORDS "FROM THE PEOPLE OF STAMFORD, CT." THE COMPANY I WORKED FOR LATER MADE THE LITTLE LATCH PIECES OUT OF POWERED METAL AND I MADE THE DIES OUT OF CARBIDE. RUSS

Michigan Glen I have a couple of thick hardback books about zippo lighters and their history. They are packed full of interesting info. I also have one that values the zippo lighters dating back to their begining. The info from you on custom ordering one (or more) from the company is a great idea, something I didn't think or know they did. Will definately be checking into that. Thank you Glen John
