Mufflers

I have a 417-8 with Kohler 17 series II moter....I would like to replace or re chrome the mufflers any sugestions. The muffler works fine but come of the chrome has come of and it dose not look that great

If the chrome has burned off I would assume the muffler is pretty rusty. Getting anything re-Chromed is going to be very expensive and if you want a good job the rust will have to be removed. Removing the rust may open up holes in the muffler. Eastwood has some hiogh temperature paints if the rusty look really bothers you

Spunky, I have an good supply of SS tubing, piping, ect. and have built mufflers out of SS, I'm waiting for parts on my old Tig welder, its been 2 months, something wrong with the high frequency or something like that, Anyway, if I can get parts, I could build one, with out the Tig parts, my tig welding days are over, just cost to much for a new one.

Another option would be to look at some motorcycle mufflers. They are usually chrome and you light find one that will fit.
