Pretty cool piece of Machinery.

I had an option for a Deckel fp1 compatible Mill i can get, but that beast Weights over 2,5To.

so i must decide, it will not be mine.

That thing was too Heavy. I estimated it will be about 500Kilo‘s but i failed on my weight estimation.

so have a lot of Fun with.

@WHX24 after 2+ years of looking, I paid $1,400.   This ones been sitting in the back of a shop unused for several years and needs a good through cleaning.

For quite some time I stayed away from thee Taiwan/China made lathes, but finally decided I wasn't ever going to find an American made machine around here within my budget.  Then a couple of American made machines were so worn I could see it when i held a straight edge to their ways.  I had several machine shop classes 40+ years ago and spend 2 summers working in a machine shop back then.  So we'll see how my bicycle riding memory is.

I've been following some Hobby Machinist forums for awhile and they really make me see how great RedSquare is.  On some you can be banned for mentioning Taiwan/China machines or light weight machines like the Sears/Atlas.  I'm sorry to says they  seem very elites', if your not a heavy duty hobbyist.

WHX??

So what I hear then Jim is my chances of finding a nice South Bend with back gears and some semblance  of acccuracy is slim to none in the 1 to 3K range ? Fine steel wool with lots of shilpenlube  should clean up ways ... hopefully.

The hunt continues ....

Of course you know we will want :banana-gotpics:you get that set up.

Around here the South Bends seem to start around  3.5k  I had some small hopes that the shale oil boom slowing drastically might put some machines on the market. But the small machines are in high demand.   Of course pricing in your area may be different

Mid 60s seat?

Interesting tall-mongous steering column.

Originally owned by a skinny NBA player?

Or a T-Rex with really short arms?

I don't think an NBA players would fit. Maybe a small T-Rex.

Here's another pic.

Little bit of wet weather horse wrangling this morning. Had to use the 412A to pull it out of the woods. I believe it’s a 1969 Workhorse 700 Special.
