I do, I really do! 312 (or something similar) no the back of the trailer but can only make out the steering wheel of the one in front of it. Obviously a big ol' 953/1054 in the bead of the truck.

PeacemakerJack 10,738 #1605 Posted August 31, 2019 Here’s the story—I have a pair of friends (Dale and Cindy) that I have known for about 20 years. Dale is suffering from Alzheimer’s and is dying from complications with his heart. He is in his mid 70’s. Cindy has the burden of caring for him and maintaining their property. She is an active “can-do” woman and wants to do as much as she can. She asked me to take a look at her lawn mower that she uses to maintain their property. It is an older “throw away JD” and needs a lot of work to get it functional. So, I asked her if she would be open to allowing me to find one for her. I got a tip from a buddy on this 418-A that seems like it will work our well for her. I negotiated a price with the PO and then planned the two hour run down to get it. Then he asks me a classic question that we fans love to hear, “You wouldn’t be interested in any more Wheel Horses would you?”... 3 1

PeacemakerJack 10,738 #1607 Posted August 31, 2019 My response was...”Not really. What are they?” He says, “they are the ones with the 15” wheels on the back!” SCORE! 1
PeacemakerJack 10,738 #1608 Posted August 31, 2019 Now the old tractors... A mostly complete but non running 953. It has some cobbler items like the Cub steering wheel and the fishing boat seat. I have most of the sheet metal for it. @953 nut Dick can you verify these serial numbers for me when you get a chance? The owner tells me he won’t separate the tractors or all the stuff that they come with... Tractor number two is a 1054 that has a Patina @Shynon would love! the decals are gone and it has thick Patina everywhere but the K241 runs AMAZINGLY well, hydraulics work great as it was attached to a grader blade when I arrived. It also came with with several well worn mower decks, and two push blades—one big one and one HUGE one! I was in a hurry to get everything loaded and make it back home before dark and so I didn’t really get a chance to look over everything well yet... 1 7

953 nut 55,244 #1613 Posted August 31, 2019 8 hours ago, PeacemakerJack said: Dick can you verify these serial numbers for me when you get a chance? 34163 would be a Second Generation 953 with Ross Steering and would have left the factory with the same headlights and steering wheel as the 1054, but the bends in the seat frame would have been smooth rather than dimpled. 49349 would be a late production 1054 or a very early production (1965) 1054A. Based on the tires and rims I will agree with @Shynon that it is a 1054A. I wouldn't change a thing on that one, perhaps some new decals on the hood side, but otherwise it is PATINA PERFECT! 1 3
