12 hp Kohler 1,014 #1235 Posted April 21, 2018 The bug eyes change the look of the tractor, I have always thought they were so cool!

They do look cool, this set will likely go on my 854. This 855 is pretty rough and I would have passed it up had it not been for the lights

I agree tractor looked rough, but those lights were worth the asking price. At that you basically got the tractor for free!

At that you basically got the tractor for free! True, but at this point I’m very happy with tractor as well. After a carb and pump cleaning and points change it came to life without any blue cloud or unwanted sounds. I also have the deck from this horse, bought it last year when the tractor wasn’t for sale. Ive been hoping he’d list it and made my move the moment I saw it.
Lane Ranger 10,968 #1239 Posted April 26, 2018 Picked up two that were owned by three generations of the same family! Grandfather was a farmer that bought the 1958 RJ. Father bought 856 new with snowblade and 36 inch deck! Grandson wanted to redo but is now set to retire in another part of the U. S. 856 did heavy mowing. Nd snow removal duty near Hayward, Wisconsin. I bought both but David and I picked them up this evening. I loved the one family owned story! Grandson is an engineer and rebuilt 856 transmission and had a few new gears made for it! 6

I don’t know the model but it was almost free so I just bought it anyway. I will do some research later tonight.
