WHX?? 48,815 #1901 Posted May 21, 2020 Wow... in my 701 frenzy I missed the plow... was a nice score! So yesterday in my early morning email I see one from CL for a 1055 carcass but the motor in it was definitely a 701. The guys write up said 200 for the tractor PLUS another 250 for the belt guard. The ad said located in Portage so I was immediately ahh... lets just say interested, you guys know what red tractor porn can do to a guy! Turns out it was in Portage MI near Kalamazoo not far from Kev not Portage WI. So I quick PM him about it & include Dan as he's got a worse penchant for 701's than me. Right away Kev has to say something about me snooping for horses in MI!!! Truth be told Kev I keep an eye on them MN fellas too! Dan says and I quote with some editing! Sooo... Why does it have a k161 engine from a Wheel Horse 701 - the only to use a double belt S/G???? $250 for the belt guard!!!! The crack most make him see an extra $100 value on that. Looks like a Mutt to me. But I'd pay the $200 for the tractor. He can use that $250 belt guard to shovel sand up his. Keep in mind here this is 630 AM and I about fell off my barstool laughing! So call the guy Kev I says … you call the guy he says and I again quote.... "I'm tractor heavy" So he calls the guy and tells us about the seller's voice mail message.... so now I gotta call the guy... it was hilarious. the guys message says something about don't bother pressing 1 for Spanish I'm American! So we both leave a message but I never get called back but Kev does and we keep batting back and forth about what's it's worth. Then Kev pm's us this about it.. "This is all assuming he sets the gun against the wall and heads inside for another Milwaukee’s Best and a chew and notices the message!" Yup off the barstool I went! Thanks bro really made my morning! This is where you tell the guys about your morning conversation with Mrs. P Kev......
Pullstart 62,884 #1902 Posted May 21, 2020 So as I roll over in bed, check my email notification on this 1055, then Jim’s PM, then the ad, I’m all wrapped up in deciphering how much he really wants for this project. Mrs. P had something important to say, but I’m not great at multi-tasking. I totally didn’t hear a thing she said, but could tell she was waiting for a response. “Sorry honey, I was reading this tractor ad.” Well that didn’t go over great. I reminded her that very often, I’m on the other side of that conversation but with a FB post, online game or some other pointless distraction. Well that didn’t go over great. What’s a guy to do, huh?

Andy N. 2,154 #1904 Posted May 22, 2020 I picked this Agri-Fab broadcast spreader and dethatcher up yesterday for $80. Didn't get a pic of it in my mirror because you really couldn't see it, but it looks good hooked up to my 418-A. The seller was in the final prep for moving and had a "trash" pile going, so I also got a 5 gallon gas can, a 3/8" drive Black & Decker corded drill that works and various bug spray and fertilizer that I use around the outside of my house for free. 7
19richie66 17,508 #1905 Posted May 23, 2020 Been eyeing this little beauty on marketplace for the past couple of weeks. Need something to mow the new yard so I made him an offer and he accepted. So I hightailed it about 2 hours north and picked it up. Went to push it on the trailer and noticed it had a brinley adapter with the rockshaft and a regular hitch. Brought it home and started trying to figure out why it lost power. Only 0054. Hours on the meter. Almost NOS. Turns out someone had did the “twisty” wire (no solder or connector) on a safety switch bypass and lit up two wires. Also the main fuse holder wire is bad in the plug. The safety wires under the seat and dash panel have been bypassed. Gave it a good bath and will try the repair tomorrow and see if I can get it to fire over. Not bad for $180. 3 8 1
rjg854 11,362 #1906 Posted May 24, 2020 That sure looks like more than 54 hours of use on that there tractor 1
19richie66 17,508 #1907 Posted May 24, 2020 (edited) It is. The hour meter wire was mangled as was this one. Lesson: never route wiring next to a fan gear and no, not my handywork. Im having to cut out the wiring and redo it. But, hardly anything is worn out on this thing. Steering is tight, very little slop in the PTO linkage. Yes it looks bad from the wonderful Florida weather but overall pretty solid. Edited May 26, 2020 by 19richie66 5
Pullstart 62,884 #1908 Posted May 25, 2020 I loaned the ZTR to my wife’s boss. Picked it up today and noticed an old trailer in the weeds. Freebie! It doesn’t have a tailgate but the way it is shaped with the angled sides makes me wonder if it should be the dump box for my dump truck project... 4

WHX?? 48,815 #1921 Posted May 30, 2020 (edited) What's in your mirror is kinda hard when you have an enclosed but took a 10 hr round trip jaunt to go see @dclarke to pick up a fine 520 snow beast with Dan @Achto for navigator and my wife Cindy for beauty. Always a pleasure and well worth the trip Denny. He even threw it a nice pile of parts and a fine lawn roller that Dan and I might come to fisticuffs about ownership! Kev @pullstart the hood collection grew abit. Just so you guys know Denny has got a nice little harem of thundering round hoods. SORRY no pics as one has yet to be unveiled. We'll let @Terry M do that. Note the clearance of the cab...we had to take off the becon lite and pull the cores out of all four tires to get it to fit.... so if it fits ... it ships! dclarke 4,032 #1922 Posted May 30, 2020 (edited) Good to visit with you guys and your better half, Jim. Glad you made it home safe and glad that 520 went to a good home..... Oh yeah, I’m glad that thing went into the trailer too, even if it was on the rims. Lol Edited May 30, 2020 by dclarke 1
WHX?? 48,815 #1923 Posted May 30, 2020 (edited) I have no idea why the 416 I picked up once in MN went in with the same cab with no problem but this one was a tight squeeze! The ultimate scoring rig! Edited May 30, 2020 by WHX24 3
c-series don 8,707 #1924 Posted May 30, 2020 Good thing for the enclosed trailer or that cab probably would have looked a lot different by the time you got home 😂😂 nice rig👍🏻
