Brought home a pair of Porsche 928 engines.. Been supposed to pick them up from my buddy's for about 6 months now.. One is supposed to be a good engine, the other is supposed to have something wrong with it. They've been stored outside under a tarp and trash bags, and the "good" engine has water in every cylinder. I'll have to pull the heads off and see what the damage is.

Took one of my trucks from one place to go sit at another where maybe I'll be more inclined to do something with it! Put an engine in it a few weeks ago so now it moves under its own power. The V10 pulled it with ease.

Yep, the weather down here is good to metal. The sun will bake all of the paint off and kill the interior (As is evident by the dash in the blue truck, lol), but It probably wont rust. The 68 has been off the road since 75. Bought it for $150 to save it from being scrapped. Super straight, but it needs a windshield and back glass. They used the bed as a compost pile and it needs a bed floor.. This is the first truck I've ever seen with the bed rusted out.

@ZXT that ol Dodge looks like the one my dad had years ago. The shifter (auto) was on the dash, great truck wish it was mine but like all things that come and go it just a memory to look back on and think about the good times we had it. First truck ever seen with the selector on the dash.

Very cool! My buddy has one with a dash shifter - he actually got it from the same guy I got mine. Here's a picture of it. Had a 318 and 727 auto, and we recently pulled that out and put a 383 big block in it. The engine from his is now mated to the granny 4 speed in mine.

We still have my grandfathers 67 D100 with a /6 and a 3 on the tree. He bought it new on my dad's first day of kindergarten.. I wouldn't sell it for anything.

It wasn't advertised.   A friend of mine lives next to the PO and told me he was going to sell.

Not sure what I'm doing with it.     Turns out the original owner is a well known hall of fame baseball player.  I have some research to do.

A couple more pics.

I’m just the delivery boy today.  This is a 425 I bought at the auction on behalf of my father inlaw’s co worker.  Their shop has helped me so much, I figured I could repay the favor.  It’s got water (coolant?) in the oil and he found that out after bidding closed, but we were bound to pay for it.  It runs good, hopefully it’s a simple repair and not too much damage was done.

Made it home from the Big Show safe and sound with the 953 narrow front, a 417-A parts tractor and a couple spare engines on the trailer.

The show was a blast and hope all have a safe trip too.

Out with the old, and in with the... older!

Traded my 99 Dodge V10 for an 81 Porsche 928 this morning. It was my favorite truck, and while I'm glad I made the trade, I'll be feeling it for a while.. It's like losing a friend.

Car is pretty nice, but not perfect. Interior has been completely redone, has had quite a bit of maintenance done to it, and it's been repainted recently. The paint was a fairly poor quality job, but It'll make a good driver.

Went to look at it last night and the guy said that it ran, then it got to where it ran really rough and would die, and once it cooled off it'd start and run again for a while. Said that he had too much money in it, hadn't touched it since December, was at his wits end and just wanted it gone. It wouldn't start when I got there. Looked around for a few minutes, checked for fuel, power at coil.. Then I pulled the coil wire off of the distributor cap.. These cars have a "male" post that sticks up at each of the 9 terminals on the cap, which look similar to what you'd find if you un-threaded the tip off of a spark plug. The post was corroded off at the coil terminal, and also at two of the spark plug wires. I pressed firmly on the coil wire so that it would make somewhat of a connection, and it started and ran.

Brought a distributor cap and a couple plug wires of one of my other 928's with me when I went this morning, swapped them on and drove the car onto the trailer. It was still running rough, so I pulled and cleaned the fuel injectors. Runs nearly perfect now. A few of the injectors didn't spray a nice pattern when I tested them and I attribute it to that.

Thanks! This is my 5th 928... I've only bought basket cases in the past because I've felt the need to save every neglected one I could find. This one is complete, unmolested, and I was able to drive it around the block this evening.. That's further than any of the other four I have. I plan for it to be my daily driver before too long.
