AMC RULES 37,130 #1327 Posted December 26, 2018 That seems like the perfect example for the old addage, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
buckeyes 213 #1328 Posted December 26, 2018 The seat is pretty bad. I think he just put a cover over it, but the rail on the underside is broken on the one side. I have so many memories of taking the C-160 through the woods hauling wood home. Countless afternoons and Saturdays working with my dad, hauling water to the back pasture for our steers, and spreading manure with a small ground driven spreader. They really feel like a part of my childhood. Always started up, and ran like a top! Good memories... 2 2

Just clean it up a bit. Maybe paint up the muffler and throw a little Gorilla tape on the seat Corners so they don't get any worse and fix what really needs to be done. I'm generally a fan of the older machines but I love to hear the stories about family connected stuff. You should be proud of that one. You really date yourself when a 30 year old machine is not considered older. I like the history on that one as well. Cleat 1

WHX?? 48,815 #1337 Posted January 28, 2019 Everthing for the original Clinton was in those boxes Tom save for the shroud and recoil. Magneto looks rough and I mic'ed the bore and ring end gap at one time and not terible but just nearing the end of wear limits so definitely savable.

SylvanLakeWH 25,537 #1345 Posted February 12, 2019 On the hunt for a to restore with my daughter...haven’t found the right one yet but in the mean time picked this up from my brother in law. She and I are going to get her going for light neighborhood “patrol duty”... Its a 1982 CB 125. Been in his basement for 20+ years...retired from meter maid duty after a mishap that bent a few things...we will begin squaring things up shortly...

ztnoo 2,298 #1347 Posted February 12, 2019 @SylvanLakeWH, Overall, from the angle of the shot, that 125 looks to be in pretty decent shape! Having been stored inside in relative warm and low humidity conditions does a lot to preserve vintage bikes, especially in this part of the country. I've got a '74 Yamaha RD 350 with '73 tank and side covers color scheme, with muffled expansion chambers which I occasionally use to zip/rip around on here locally in the late spring to late fall time frame. It's a blast to ride, extremely maneuverable, and they are unbelievably quick for their displacement. Back in the day, they would run with a 650 Triumph or BSA. More and more women are riding and I think that's great to see. I can't believe how many I see on big H-Ds here. Are you a member of VJMC (Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club), by chance?

It is in great shape except for some damage due to a past drop... Nothing a vice can't fix! These old bikes are like WH's - Simple and bomb-proof! Happy my daughter wants to plug away at it with me! She rode when she was younger so not new to her... No I am not a member of the VJMC - Never heard of it! - but I will check it out!
WHX?? 48,815 #1349 Posted February 12, 2019 That brings back memories Jim. I had one of those in high school but probably early - mid seventies vintage. Even took my MC license road test on it! Wasn't exactly a chick magnet but got me to my $1 an hour job stocking shelves. Top end was 55 mph going down hill! Was indestructible tho. Sold it when I went in the service but shoulda stuck it in storage. Never in my wildest dreams did I think 40 years later I would be piloting a 1000 lb HD down the road! Let us know how it works out for you and dau.
