Congrats on your D-180 Tom! How much was it?

It's a D-160! and probably a little too much, :laughing-rofl: ,it has beautiful patina though and is totally solid, but it was a completely fair amount, imo.  Came with a super clean 48" deck and a small jackson tow behind cart.  Just needs a carb cleaning and a deck belt and I'll be all set for the mowing season :chores-mowlawn:

Picked this up at the auction today.  Not real old, but does say Wheel Horse in small letters after TORO.   Also got a nice seat.

It's usually the exact same  people Mike.

A group of non-buyers are there every week to socialize and eat lunch.  The sales usually start at 11AM.

The buyers are local ( 50 mi radius)  antique dealers , collectors, and a few el-cheapo retired bargain hunters like me that live close by  and spend a couple hours the day before the sale going thru the boxes and gleaning info from the auctioneer.

Well I swore I wasn't going to do it, but sometimes deals come along that you just can't pass up! I was lucky enough to see this 18 minutes after he posted it on Craigslist and was the first to call. I was working 4 hours of OT at work from 6pm to 10pm and had the watch meaning I have to sit at the front desk and answer the phones and the front door. Being the station that I was at is slow to any foot traffic and I was board out of my mind waiting for a fire/ems call to come in I decided to cruise CL and see what was new for sale in my usual searches. Low and behold I saw it and immediately dialed. I was the first caller and told him I would take it. It worked out even better that he was just 20 minutes from where I work. Lucky enough for me we have a spare trailer down at the fire maintenance garage and I just happen to have the keys to the facility. So as soon as my relief came in, I ran down down and picked up the trailer and headed to pick it up. The guy said his phone was blowing up from all the calls he was getting. He couldn't believe it. Well lets just say he listed it at such a ridiculously low price it's no wonder! It's not a rear view mirror shot because it was mostly back roads with no lighting and I was to tired to bother stopping till I got home so these pics will have to due. She's not pretty but what the heck. A little elbow grease and some sheet metal straightening and it will be good as new:handgestures-thumbup:

Nice score Jeff......and a 60" deck! Don't you live on a hillside? Will you be using that deck?

Also I see a Super-duty tail gate, did you get a new truck?

Mike....

No Mike I won't be using deck that's for sure. Don't know what I'm going to do with the tractor either. Going to degrease and clean it, then get it running and straighten out the fender pan and hood. The story goes it was owned by a rich North Greenwich resident. He bought a new large walk behind about 12 or 13 years ago and put this away in his shed. It was given to the guy I got it from who does some type of work for the gentleman. He said he was told it was running fine when it was put away. The hour meter shows 929 hours.

And yes that is a 2015 F250 Super Duty towing it. I picked it up a few months ago. It was actually some type of corporate lease and I picked it up for $12,000 off of the original sticker price. It was one of those "such a good deal I couldn't pass it up". Plus I beat them up on the trade in of my truck so it worked out really well!. Unfortunately it's not a diesel but I wasn't looking to spend that kind of money.

Mike is such an eagle eye as usual ...

Let's just say I paid more for a 520 seat than Jeff paid for the entire package. Heck the guy may have mad more if he scraped it. And great score mr " I am all done buying"
