Hodge71 664 #436 Posted March 7, 2015 Its tough to make out from the inside but I can tell you it was an absolutely miserable 11 1/2 hour ride to get this tractor. Probably the single stupidest thing I've ever done to get a tractor. I took the 551 out and brought this back... Its home now. Rebuilt the carb this week, went to move it tonight after work and the drive belt broke so I'm running to my favorite dealer tomorrow for a new drive belt...at least I hope...Then its going to get the 56" plow I got at the end of last year for $73.50 put on it and get some snow cleared tomorrow and Sunday while its warmer

Sparky-(Admin) 21,314 #440 Posted March 7, 2015 I know when ya rent a U-Haul box truck they say bring it back clean or pay a $20 cleaning fee......I think I woulda dropped that trailer off and tossed a $20 bill on the counter !! Mike.............
Hodge71 664 #441 Posted March 7, 2015 How did the trailer do in those road conditions Jeff? It wasn't bad at all Craig. The problem was a bad brake rotor midtrip on the Durango, a flat tire, and marginal tires. It was never supposed to snow that early. Snow as supposed to start after dinner, not before breakfast. I know when ya rent a U-Haul box truck they say bring it back clean or pay a $20 cleaning fee......I think I woulda dropped that trailer off and tossed a $20 bill on the counter !! Mike............. I didnt clean it or give them a $20. It cost me $34 to rent the trailer. They treat pretty fair at my local haul. Even left me stay inside after they closed because Jeb accidentally locked my keys in the Durango..... running..... $75 later and i hour waiting we were on the way home finally
stevebo-(Moderator) 8,330 #443 Posted March 13, 2015 Brandon- I am a little stumped on that one. Is it a 702/753?
bmsgaffer 2,043 #444 Posted March 13, 2015 (edited) I made it a little tough by loading it backwards. It looks pretty good. I am fairly sure much of it is original. Unfortunately a previous owner somewhere along the line drilled a few holes in the hood and one set started tearing out. Also there is a cigar lighter drilled into the dash portion of the gas tank... something doesn't seem safe about that.. and I'm pretty sure its not stock was not an option from wheel horse. Edit: and it has 5 bolt hubs, and may need some bearings in the transmission. Edited March 13, 2015 by bmsgaffer

Sparky-(Admin) 21,314 #446 Posted March 13, 2015 I like the black rear rims.....unless your shooting for factory original I would shoot the front rims black as well. Mike.....

grnlark 479 #450 Posted March 16, 2015 Pretty decent 551. No motor. Shifts nice, has cast foot rests, mint steering wheel. All-in-all a nice little rig. Not sure if its a keeper or what I'm going to do with it. I like the fact that it has the provision for the battery, so the sky is pretty much the limit as far as engine choices.
