6wheeler 598 #1 Posted March 24, 2012 I have a question on my 520h. I have to hold the lever in place for movement or it slows down. The tension nut is loose, only finger tight. How tight should it be? I may have to put a new nylock nut on if it doesn't stay put. I don't want to over-tighten it. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

6wheeler 598 #4 Posted March 25, 2012 Does that (fiber washer) act as a lock Farmer? It has a washer. Should I eliminate the steel washer then ? I tightened it , but I don't know if there is perhaps an inch pound torque spec. for it. Or, is it just by feel. And thanks Sparky. Well, cuz I already did grease it. I'll clean that off. But, it sure did move nice after I greased it. I don't have a book on it. On a side note, I picked up a 60" inch deck for it yesterday.....for $O dollars. farmer 1,075 #5 Posted March 25, 2012 6Wheeler, When had a 518, I found putting a fibre washer between the steel one and the 'cam plate', ment the motion lever was smoother in operation. It grips, yet it slides.....Torque it by feel.....and as Mike says don't lube it.
