Wheel Horse Kid 105 #1 Posted March 21, 2012 Hello, Last fall I planted winter rye for the first time as a ground cover for my garden. I was just wondering when you guys would reccomend that I till it in to the soil and also how many times should I go over it with the tiller? I read somewhere that it has a chemical that can kill your plants, so I want to make sure that I get it broken down really well before I plant. Thanks! Jim_M 178 #2 Posted March 21, 2012 It should be dry enough to till it in right now. I would till it until it's mulched up good then till again in a week if it's dry enough.
