It Might be a little difficult to drive the Snowmotractor around the fairgrounds in the summer 😜. Just kidding, I’m sure you have some kind of wheels that attach to it. I will have a couple of extra tractors at the show that your girls can cruise around on if gas prices keep you from bringing both rigs.

It won’t much be used for too many cruises!

Well, with regular hitting $4.00 this morning here, and $4.19 in Gettysburg (PA is always 20 cent higher than MD due to tax), $7.00 probably isn't far off unless something is done quickly.

JoeM 7,874 #137 Posted March 11, 2022 USA Today Highest gas prices in California California continues to have the most expensive gas in the country at $5.69, and remains the only state to average over $5. California also became the first state to average over $6 for a gallon of diesel at $6.21 Hope this stays on the west coast!
WHX?? 48,815 #138 Posted March 11, 2022 What's diesel up to out there Joe? 4.99 here regular gas @ 4.

An over the road trucker sent a pic, to my brother, of the diesel pump in AZ when he was done filling up. Just north of $1000 bucks. Amazing.
WHX?? 48,815 #140 Posted March 11, 2022 That's what is prolly is along the turnpikes then. That would rule me out for the BS. I'd have 1000 easy hauling a horse trailer. Plus 250 in tolls.

A friend of mine was interviewing for a position that would have paid $ 50K more than he is making here. Once he saw what it cost to live out there (Taxes, housing, groceries and higher federal tax bracket) he decide that he would be taking a pay cut and hated the traffic congestion. 2
JoeM 7,874 #142 Posted March 12, 2022 In Pa right now diesel is setting in the mid $5.00 range, but is going up .10 about every other day. @WHX?? They are talking about temporarily taking the Pa. road tax off of fuel (.58 per gallon). But does that mean it is going to be $1.16 next year? Part of that money has funded our state police. I am not to sure how that will work but I am sceptical as far as the future goes. Maybe Pa. is competing with California for road tax champion! @953 nut I was out in Vegas before Covid and was using UBers to get around town. A majority of the drivers were from Cali. Most said the same thing you related to about the cost of living etc. just couldn't make it. The 10 states with the highest gas taxes: Pennsylvania (0.586 cents) California (0.533 cents) Washington (0.519952 cents) New Jersey (0.414 cents) New York (0.4045 cents) Illinois (0.391 cents) Ohio (0.385 cents) Maryland (0.368905 cents) North Carolina (0.3635 cents) Oregon (0.36 cents) 1
c-series don 8,707 #143 Posted March 12, 2022 Here on Long Island, New York home heating oil is now well over 5 bucks a gallon. I can’t imagine filling my 1000 gallon tank now. Two weeks ago I got 200 gallons @ 3.85 a gallon. I’ve never been more happy about having a good wood stove.

A guy up the road runs a gas drilling compliance service that supplies safety equipment in trailers to gas drill sites. A month ago the impoundment was full, yesterday less than half full. I figure the natural gas guys are anticipating a demand and are gearing up.

Tractorhead 9,064 #149 Posted March 13, 2022 Before they said don‘t drink and drive, actually it swaps better drink and don‘t drive... however, i filled up several canisters for the Wheelhorse. if the prices grows further that way, Alcohol becomes much cheaper than gasoline. good times for very old multifuel engines.😎
19richie66 17,508 #150 Posted March 14, 2022 (edited) Well I cancelled my hotel room. Just not going to happen this year. To much going on in the span of summer. HOWEVER, if all goes right, I’ll be ordering one of these next week. A 20’x40’ pole shed that will sit right next to the container. Finally have a semi-solid game plan for a workspace. It was a hard decision Edited March 14, 2022 by 19richie66 4
