Will G 3 #1 Posted March 18, 2012 So I decided to take the blower off and stick the 42 inch SD deck on the C-111 and do some mowing..... Still need to remove weights and chains though. I gotta say I love the sound of the 11 hp Briggs under a good load too!
Sparky-(Admin) 21,337 #2 Posted March 18, 2012 It was warm here as well, but my grass hasn't woken up yet. Maybe I missed something Will, but I thought you had tranny issues with both of your machines? Did ya get em fixed? Mike...........
Will G 3 #3 Posted March 18, 2012 It was warm here as well, but my grass hasn't woken up yet. Maybe I missed something Will, but I thought you had tranny issues with both of your machines? Did ya get em fixed? Mike........... The C-81 still will not move, I have other projects being worked on, and I was able to get the C-111 into high range but still have a broken shift fork or broken roll pin in the shifter lever, again I will not mess with it until other projects are completed. Jake Kuhn 1,555 #4 Posted March 19, 2012 Wish the grass would start growing here again so I could do some mowing. Jake
Rollerman 290 #5 Posted March 19, 2012 Will I'm with you. all this warm weather I've been itching to cut the lawn since winter plowing was a bust. Mounted up my 42" recycler deck on the C175 Auto I bought at the beginning of the year & went at it. Seats was very comfortable the DCL is a little sticky though. Kelly 1,029 #6 Posted March 19, 2012 I cleaned stones out of the yard from what little plowing I did, and with the ground not froze it was a lot of stones, it was 77 deg here today and 80's most of last week, not ready to mow yet.
Hydro 131 #7 Posted March 19, 2012 I'll be cutting grass before the end of March...unheard of up here! :flags-canada:
AMC RULES 37,130 #8 Posted March 19, 2012 I did do some aerating today, in this unseasonably warm weather. While the grass is greening up nicely, it's nowhere near ready here for the first cutting of 2012. :chores-mowlawn:

Wheel-N-It 2,969 #11 Posted March 19, 2012 I cut grass about 3 hours yesterday. Just hitting the high grass at my house, and at my Mom's house next door. The best part of it was I used/worked the recently purchased 417-A for the first time. That was probably the first time in about 6 years it had been used as a mower. Acually it had sat in a garage for most of that 6 years as the PO has died, and the 417 just sat there until I purchased it. It really performed well with the new blades, and fluids, and filters, and oil change. My Son loves the sound of the twin cylinder Kohler 17 horsepower, and I must admit so do I. bowtiebutler956 650 #12 Posted March 19, 2012 I've been cutting grass down here for the last 2 months, its growing like crazy, and my poor B-80 definitely has a very full time job. I do have to admit that listening to that K301 through its stack is music to my ears, which is good since I have to listen to it alot! Got to love the seat time! tgranthamfd 29 #14 Posted March 19, 2012 I mowed my place Friday & Saturday, then our friends place Saturday & Sunday, plus mower my back yard again Sunday morning. That's twice in 3 days, on the back yard. Over the last 2 weeks it really blew out of the ground and got a lot thicker, too.
