Ahhh....New rubber smell!

Recommended Posts

Sparky

My new rear skins came in yesterday so my TORO dealer mounted em up (two old tires off the rims and two new ones on for $25, thought that was a good price). My plan is to not have to use chains for plowing so I went with an aggresive tread 23x10.5x12 tire mounted on wide 8.5" rims off a GT1848.

Heres the pics I know you guys gotta have! I took plenty :eusa-whistle: .

Who needs chains when you've got tread like that? Good looking tires Mike.

Those look fantastic Mike...should be great, but we will probably never have snow again. :) I have a feeling that they would also pick up any doggie land mines in the yard. thumbs up :woohoo:

I think I did. I scoured the net and most places had em for $95-$110 each plus anywhere from $25-$38 to ship. I found a place offering them for $85.37 each and free shipping so for $175.74 they were dropped off at my house.

Man I dunno..... all that tracion action with the little itty bitty 1" axle 4 pinion work horse transaxle... might be way dangerous! :ychain:

Of course I don't mean that---Sparky has heard me say 1000 times that I have never understood all this 1 1/8" versus 1" versus 8 pinion versus 4 pinion debates that go on. I have whooped on the "weakest" 4 speed 1" setup from the 60's and never even a whimper.

Nice tires!! and I wish we could see them in snow..... looks like we wait for next year.though or perhaps get in the dirt with the mid mount grader!

Nice tires ya got there, they really make your old ones look down right ugly. Keep them chains handy though, you know how it is, sometimes ya just gotta have em.
