Jake Kuhn 1,555 #128 Posted May 10, 2012 Hope it's anything but GD green , Cub yellow , or Lady pink I don't know, maybe something...umm...OH, I know... red would be nice? What color were them Standards/Bantams anyway Matt? I believe they were originally painted orange. Jake
AMC RULES 37,130 #129 Posted May 10, 2012 Interesting...there's a red Bantam with a 2k BIN on Ebay right now. Must be a repaint then. :dunno:
CasualObserver 3,408 #130 Posted May 10, 2012 Seen a few that were red, I don't know why. The main color for them is Persian Orange. (Allis Chalmers orange)
Jake Kuhn 1,555 #131 Posted May 10, 2012 Yeah I guess in the write up in Lagt a while back they were painted orange, red and blue. Jake
AMC RULES 37,130 #132 Posted May 10, 2012 IIRC, Matt aka grnlark has a factory original, two tone, powder blue and white Bantam in his collection.
bowtiebutler956 650 #133 Posted May 11, 2012 I hope I will be able to start painting it tomorrow Martin. We have been getting alot of rain, so that has slowed me down a little, but if its dry tomorrow, IT'S ON! It will be orange. I believe orange is the only factory color for the 3000, 5000, and 8000 models. Bantam used some different colors on some of the machines that came after these, but I believe orange is the only color that came on mine. I got the rest of my steering components today, and mocked them up on the tractor. All is well. Thank you guys for all the great comments! bowtiebutler956 650 #134 Posted May 12, 2012 WE HAVE COLOR!!!!! The sky was looking really gray this morning, but I went ahead, and started preping the parts for paint anyway, and low and behold, about 12 the sky cleared, and the sun came out. I didn't waste any time, I started spraying! Can anyone say Tangerine? That's what it looks like. The paints not perfect, but it turned out pretty well. I had a couple nats land in the paint, but once it dries really well, I'll buff them out. Stupid Bugs! Anyway, here are some pics. AMC RULES 37,130 #135 Posted May 12, 2012 That's one juicy lookin' tangerine Matt. Nicely done. :text-coolphotos:
bowtiebutler956 650 #136 Posted May 12, 2012 Thanks Craig! I even used my Binks gun to paint it, which I almost never pull out of the case except to do jobs I deem worthy. I didn't even use it on the B-80, but that was because it was to be a worker. I bought it about 3yrs ago, and it cost alot, but it paints oh so nice. It can even make me look good! bowtiebutler956 650 #138 Posted May 12, 2012 He does love it Jake. It's kind of funny, when he telling someone about his tractor, he gets so excited that he starts talking so fast, you can't hardly understand him. I showed him the pics of it painted when I got home today. Now that's all he can talk about! A Chip Off The Old Block! Matt :flags-texas:

Craig, I just learned how to upload pics when I joined this forum, now you want videos? Sheeesh! We'll see, I've been finding out that you can teach an old dog new tricks, but this old dog is a slow learner. Thanks Lars, much appreciated! I took Danny out to the shop today, first he sat there petting it like an animal, then the next thing I know he was hugging it! Put the new ID tag on it along with one of the new decals.
