Old Horse, New Stable! Need Help.

I have a "85" 310-8 that I have been wanting to get a snow blade for, I finally found one in my area for 150.00. Went to look at it and other than being outside for about 2 years it looks almost unused! As we were looking at the plow, I noticed the ever so faint black grill on a very typical barn find tractor. Sure enough, a 90's TORO model 244-5. I asked what we wanted, he said make an offer so I offered him 175.00 for both. He took it and off I went plow and 244 in hand. I had the carb off, cleaned it up, changed the oil and spark and she's running albeit a little sluggish. (My neighbors love me at 9:30PM) I think I need a fuel filter and a tank cleaning, add those to a good bath and I think she'll be an OK wagon puller. Question is, the carb leaks when it's not running. I had it sonic cleaned and the guy suggested a rebuild kit only available from Onan and only 130.00? All I think I need is the float valve, any ideas? Any thoughts on that Onan? Oh yea, need some seat springs too, that towel is not going to last long! post-623-0-46395300-1331136012_thumb.jpgpost-623-0-57958900-1331136025_thumb.jpgpost-623-0-95611200-1331136089_thumb.jpgpost-623-0-55792000-1331136108_thumb.jpg

Yeah, I don't know much about the Toro tractors but I did get weights and chains. I could probably sell it for mor ethan the 25 I have in it but I think I may keep it for a wagon and snow tractor.

While you're sorting out the carb. you could install a fuel shut-off valve between the fuel filter and carb and then just shut the fuel off after use (or shut off the fuel a couple minutes before shutting off the engine and use up the fuel in the line and bowl).
